Deciphering the Rules of Window Tinting in Florida
With all of the benefits that come with vehicle window tint film packages, there of course has to be rules and regulations in place to ensure that they are safe and effective for you and your passengers. This is precisely why the State of Florida and our Department of Transportation has instilled various regulations surrounding window tint film products, especially those that we install here at Detail Daytona. We have explored them for you so you can go into your installation appointment without any additional questions.
Please review the simple regulations we have outlined below:

For windshields on any size vehicle, we are allowed to install any darkness of non-reflective window tint strip above the manufacturer's AS-1 line. The darkness of window tint film products, especially those installed here at Detail Daytona, must be within a range of certain visible light transmission percentages. For sedans and smaller vehicles plus larger vehicles like trucks, SUVs, and vans, the front driver and passenger side must allow for at least 28% of visible light transmission through. Rear windows and the rear windshield of sedans and smaller vehicles have to allow up to 15% of visible light transmission in, while larger vehicles can allow for only 6% of visible light transmission on those same surfaces.
Of course, these are just the most obvious regulations for the specific window tint film packages here at Detail Daytona. We can most definitely address any other, more intricate rules and regulations that Florida has instituted about window tinting and how it relates to your vehicle.
